Last night
after reading vi's blog from MSN space
something just came to me......
ah...源氏物語......
it was my NIGHTMARE in those college years !!
nope, it still IS !!!
cant even focus my eyes on that book, stupid me, it is a Chinese version !!
with other 2 well-known Japanese classics 《枕草子》n'《和泉式部日記》,
Genji Monogatari(源) is the first ever, a long version river novel in Japan,
Pro. Honda, my college mentor likes Murasaki Shikibu.(know as 紫式部)
Indeed, 源 is a legendary literary classic in Japan along with above two,
by reading it somehow is like reading 紅樓夢, amazing but quite true.

and Motoori Norinaga, know as 本居宣長 if I got it right, (smile*)
by his annotations on 源, he took the view that the heritage of ancient Japan was one of natural spontaneity in feelings and spirit, and the imported Confucianism ran counter to such natural feelings. (from Pro. Honda Takeshi)
But lazy ki likes《和泉式部日記》and《枕草子》more more more than 《源氏物語》
ものおもへば 沢の螢も わが身より
あくがれいづる たまかとぞ見る ~ Izumi Shikibu
(朝思暮想，螢光似吾身；魂牽夢縈，點點均吾玉。)
